Planning Mas-du-Clos 25-26 May 2006

1. Outward journey

The Mas-du-Clos track is situated here, in the La Creuse department, in the hamlet Les Puids, along the N 141 Limoges - Clermont-Ferrand, 12 km East of Aubusson. The La Creuse department is part of the Limousin region.

This part of the country is magnificent and makes an outing before or after the track event very worth while!

Here is where you can find a pre-configurated Routeplanner and the GPS-coordinates that lead to the track.

2. Arrival

a. Vehicles that are higher than 2,75

Those can only get to the paddock through a non-permanent access.

This is possible on:
  • Wednesday evening 24 May 2006 between 6 and 7 PM
  • Thursday 25 May 2006 between 8 and 8.15 AM.

Participants with a vehicle that is higher than 2,75 m and who arrive later, will only get their vehicle to the paddock between noon and 2 PM.

b. Vehicles that are lower than 2,75 m

Can get to the paddock starting Wednesday evening 24 May 2006 from 6 PM (no end hour).

After a few hundred meters, you pass under the track to access the paddock:

3. Administrative Formalities & Technical Inspection

Those can be done:

  • Wednesday evening between 7.30 and 8.30 PM
  • Thursday morning starting at 7.30 AM

a. Technical Inspection

    • present @ technical inspection (the place will be indicated with small signs)
    • if motorcycle is technically approved & thus safe: put sticker on motorcycle

b. Administrative Formalities

(bring ID-card)

    • report upon arrival & verification of inscription + confirmation of the group you're in
    • sign a document to yield to responsability
You can download this already at home if you want, print it, fill it in, sign it and bring it to Mas du Clos. That way, you will loose less time on the spot.
    • receive bracelet

4. Overnight stay(s)

Here you can find all the information about the different possibilities to stay the night.

For those who will stay the night in the paddock:

  • keep in mind that there are no showers nor electricity. They want to keep it that way to keep the private aspect of the track intact. There are 7 toilets and 4 washing stands.
  • on Thursday 26th May 2006, we have to leave the paddock immediately after our event, so the next organisation (a Lotus Club) will have the paddock entirely for themselves from 6 PM on, just as we had on Wednesday evening, 24th May and for the track services to be able to clean everything thouroughly.

5. General Briefing

Around 8.45 AM in the Pitlane. It will be audible through speakers around the paddock so you will not have to move for this.

6. Time schedule

Will be hung out on the spot.
You can download the time-schedule in pdf-format here.

7. Tyre service

More information can be found here.

For the sake of a quick despatch of business and a minimal loss of time, the Tyre service of Bridgestone will give priority to those who make reservations on the spot (for instance an hour beforehand) about when exactly they will come for a tyre change (an average of 15' per motorcycle).

This way, you will get an exact time for your tyre change and it avoids you to wait or even miss a session.

8. Miscelany

a. Meals

  • Breakfast

There is a machine for hot beverages like coffee and hot chocolate that works with coins in the paddock-building.

At 3 km from the track, there is a very good baker for fresh baked butter-biscuits, croissants, etc (from the track, direction Clermont-Ferrand, 3 km down the road at the right).

  • Dinner

There is a machine with softdrinks in the paddock-building.
There will be dressed rolls for all participants. They will be available for free from noon. More info will be given on the spot through the speaker system.
  • Supper

For those who want to, there are coolers available ("as long as the stock lasts") to store food that you brought (from home or from the department-store at 12 km from the track (at Aubusson)). More details about this on the spot.

Possibilities:

  • for those who stay the night in the paddock, or have chosen for the camping-site : organise a BBQ with friends, or go out for supper in one of the cosy restaurants at Aubusson, at 10' from the track.
  • for those who have chosen for one of the nice chambres d'hôtes: sit down to supper there (table d'hôtes) and enjoy the art of cooking of the hostess
  • for those who stay in a hotel: have supper there or go to a restaurant
